True village charm, all throughout the year.

Tariffville Welcomes You!

A picturesque village within the town of Simsbury, located just 11 miles north and west of the city of Hartford, Tariffville strategically embraces the Farmington River. Rich in history, echoing the progress of the Industrial Revolution, the village holds a past that includes the first carpet mills in America (1825), water-powered electricity (1900), and a train wreck (1878) linked to the world's first emergency phone call. Today, Tariffville still provides a glimpse of it's historic character through its architecture, and a river access (Tariffville Gorge) that continues to hold a national interest.
